Rest -Allow the muscle to begin recovery without any more damage being done. Ice- Straight away to help slow down circulation and reduce swelling. You should ice for 10 to 15 minutes be careful in giving yourself an ice burn. Use a damp cloth between your skin and the ice. Repeat this several times a day. Compression- apply pressure to the injury to restrict bleeding. Continue this routine for a few days. Elevate- the injured area to above your torso. This will help reduce swelling from the injured area..
